Summer genealogy learning in comfort at GRIP

It’s only three months till Debbie Mieszala, Josh Taylor, and I will be standing in front of a roomful of genealogists that will be learning more intermediate level genealogy.  This is the 4th year I have coordinated this Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh (GRIP) course. Not quite at the intermediate level yet? We will guide you along in between classes. Beyond the intermediate level but need a refresher? We will reopen your eyes and mind during the week.

The cafeteria andGRIP logo the classroom are in the same building and are  air-conditioned. Right outside the cafeteria is a great space for gathering, reading your syllabus, or meeting new friends. The dorms are the next building and it’s a 1 minute or less walk.  Get a roommate and have dorm fun. Yes, they are dorms, but the price is right and to be that close to Editthe classroom means I can sleep about 15 minutes more in the morning. Save some time for a walk around this beautiful campus of LaRoche College.

There are a few seats left in “Intermediate Genealogy: Tools for Digging Deeper”that takes place July 19-24, 2015.  Things start hopping in the late afternoon of Sunday, July 19th and end just after noon on Friday, July 24.

Your presence will add to a great week of learning, sharing, and fun. Yes, we have fun, too. A great camaraderie develops in our classroom and with other GRIP Students. The intermediate course students get to do some out-loud thinking and planning, have the chance to have their own research challenge worked on as a group, and some other surprises.

The full listing of classes in this course for the week is listed here http://www.gripitt.org/?page_id=1195

I also teach in Josh’s course “Refresh, Rebuild and Recharge Your Genealogy Career” and I have some neat things to share in there to get your family history career on a good path.

If neither of these courses is what you need this summer, other courses might interest you: http://www.gripitt.org/.

By the way, the self-service ice cream is always a hit!
