Online record services from the Minnesota Historical Society

The Facebook page of the Gale Family Library at the Minnesota Historical Society in Saint Paul carried a recent update on what is available for researchers while the library is closed. Read about more details after this graphic from the MHS post.

Attention Researchers: Library Services Update!

We’re excited to announce the restoration of various distance research services providing access to MNHS collections, including the following:

* Research Services (http://sites.mnhs.org/library/researchservices): where staff will search for particular records/information within collections including MNHS’s vast newspaper collection in addition to popular Minnesota State Archives record sets for marriages and naturalizations in Minnesota history.

* Copy Requests for Books and Articles (https://shop.mnhs.org/products/copy-request-book-or-article): scans of articles within periodicals or pages from books in the MNHS collections compliant with restrictions of US Copyright Law

* Image Orders (https://libguides.mnhs.org/photos/order): request higher resolution scans of MNHS collections for personal or public projects.

Please note that all services will be delivered digitally and for prices that are reduced (sometimes free) in recognition of current physical library closure and economic hardships many of our researchers are experiencing as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
