During National Native American Heritage Month, the recent election results in the U.S. brings more Native Americans into local, states, and the federal governments. My state of Minnesota has a new senator. Senator-elect Peggy Flanagan is the first Native American woman to be elected to Congress! She is a member of the White Earth Nation here in Minnesota.
As some of my readers already know, I am fortunate to engage in Native American genealogical research for many years for individuals, tribes, and law firms. This month is important but don’t ignore the other months. I ended October doing a presentation on Native American research for the Minnesota Genealogical Society’s annual North Star Conference. An in-person conference and sessions were not recorded. It was a fabulous event.
This topic is not my only area of specialization and you can see other topics on this website under the Speaking tab. To help other with Native American research, I’ve listed some of my Native American recorded presentations below. They have lots of help for any researcher and I do update and add material for more recent presentations. The research resources are numerous.
